Overview
This case study for London Aviation Museum highlights a motion-first visual direction built around speed, precision, and cinematic composition. The page combines two hero edits, behind-the-scenes process screenshots, and a set of social posts to show how the final style was developed from concept to polished delivery. The goal was to create a cohesive portfolio piece that feels technical, energetic, and clearly aviation-focused across every asset.
Home Page Hero Video
The home page hero video was intended to immediately signal to the viewer what the Muesum site is about. It features cinematic and sporadic shots of Supermarine Spitfires with our London Aviation logo centered on the video. I used the rotoscope tool in Adobe Premiere to overlay the descending spitfire at the beginning, and the side view of two 'KVB, KVA' spitfires that fly off screen.
Book of Remembrance Hero Video
I made this hero video for the "Book of Remembrance" page for London Aviation Museum, which would serve as a database of veteran London pilots. I started with finding stock footage of book pages flipping to reinforce the "memories" idea. I did some color grading on the footage, and then sourced some aviation footage from the battle of britain. I used rotoscope in Premiere again to cut out the spitfire shots and created a ghostly look by slowing them down and lowering the opacity. The hero video features a title of course, and our logo on the right to finish it off.
Process
I started with pacing tests and shot selection to define the tone for each hero edit, then moved into timeline refinement for transitions, speed ramps, and rhythm. After the main structure was locked, I layered typography and graphic elements to support the aviation theme without overwhelming the footage. The process screenshots document this middle stage, where composition, timing, and visual hierarchy were adjusted before final export.
Aviation Logo
The aviation logo was used as the visual anchor for the project identity. I kept the mark clean and legible so it could sit confidently over fast-moving footage, social layouts, and process graphics without losing clarity. This helped connect the hero edits and post assets into one recognizable direction.

Impact & Outcomes
The final outcome is a cohesive aviation portfolio presentation that shows both finished motion work and how it was built. Pairing hero videos with process and social assets makes the project easier to assess from both creative and technical perspectives. Together, the pieces present a consistent visual voice that can be expanded into future edits, campaigns, and platform-specific content.
